One page at a time. That is what I had to tell myself. I have always regarded myself as tech-savvy. In my professional environment, my colleagues frequently sought my assistance and quick how-to tutorials on technology. Constructing this portfolio was quite challenging! It compelled me to strategize, set attainable goals, and maintain a positive mindset. Being in the everchanging field of education for 17-plus years, I have become a hard-working and driven individual who isn't afraid to face a challenge. I'm passionate about my work and know how to do the job. You can visit my "About Me" page for more information about my professional journey.
When I initially proposed my innovation proposal at the start of the Applied Digital Learning program, I was enthusiastic about implementing the e-portfolio in my ESL-sheltered classroom. My in-depth literature review affirmed the benefits of introducing it to this specific group of students. However, I encountered obstacles when translating my research and assignments into a cohesive platform. It proved more challenging than anticipated, and I required more than just a YouTube tutorial to overcome it. Eventually, I embraced the concept of a Growth Mindset, sought assistance from my mentor, and was able to move forward.
As I reviewed the e-portfolios showcased on Dr. Harapunik's page, I aimed to ensure that my page prioritizes quality over quantity. I desire to emphasize my best work, reflecting my strengths, interests, and experience throughout the ADL course. It was important to me that my page is easy to navigate, with a readily visible home button and a user-friendly layout. Opting for a lighthearted, scientifically themed aesthetic, I intend to use my page as an example for my 7th-grade science students as they create their own personal portfolios.
